Presentation: Rocket Lab’s Success through Composites and the Growing Opportunities in Space
Rocket Lab is an end-to-end space company founded in 2006. Rocket Lab designed and built the world’s first all carbon composite orbital launch vehicle, the Electron. The Electron has launched 50 times since 2017. We are developing our next generation medium lift vehicle, Neutron, also an all carbon composite vehicle. We design and build full satellite bus structures, as well as satellite components. We recently announced our initiative to take our expertise and capabilities and offer composite structures to the rest of the space and greater aerospace industry. We are looking for opportunities, partners, and trusted suppliers to expand our leadership in the industry to our Long Beach, CA headquarters.
Speaker Bio: Julie Kelley, Business Development Director, Composites
Julie leads the global business development efforts in composite structures at Rocket Lab, based out of our Long Beach, CA HQ. She has an undergraduate in mechanical engineering from Michigan Technological University and an MBA. She started her career in manufacturing and design engineering before moving into business development in the composites industry. She has worked in commercial aviation, business aviation, defense, and space providing composite raw materials, primary and secondary structures, and integrated assemblies. Her previous companies include Plascore, Saint-Gobain, and Sekisui Aerospace.
