Topic -  Multi-Functional Composite Solutions for Challenging Environments

Dr. Nathan (Nate) Hansen is the President and Co-Founder of the Conductive Group. His company is focused on inventing, developing, and manufacturing multi-functional composite solutions for challenging environments. This includes materials-based approaches to integrating electrical conductivity, electromagnetic shielding, electrostatic discharge, distributed sensing, distributed heating, or other electronically driven characteristics into composite systems. Their overall technical goal is to keep all the things that make composites great – be it weight, strength, cost, corrosion-resistance, or other advantages – while also engineering in the right level of electrical conductivity to meet increasingly challenging operational or systems level requirements. The Conductive Group currently encompasses Conductive Composites Company, Faraday Cases, and Faraday Structures, all of which provide product solutions to various applications/markets. Application examples and technical data will be presented.

Nate holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Utah State University and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Utah. His dissertation focused on the structure-property relationships of conductor-insulator materials systems. He has 11 years of embedded experience in small business management and growth, supplanted by 18 years in development and insertion of conductive materials for commercial systems and defense platforms. Dr. Hansen and leads the Executive Management Teams that directs the Conductive Group, and spends his core time on strategic business development, customer relations, and product development. He and his wife Lyndie live in Heber City, UT and have 4 amazing kids.
