Out of Autoclave (OOA) prepreg technology is now sufficiently mature that it is being incorporated as an alternative to autoclave processing for aerospace production structures. This technology has also been historically successful in prototype structures including Spaceship One and White Knight One. New materials now available include MTM45-1, MTM46, and MTM44-1, and can produce weight efficient, inspectable, low cost structures using OOA processing. This is an important opportunity to forever change the way composites are used in composite manufacturing, leading to lighter, less expensive, more durable structures that are easier to maintain.
