Title: High Temperature Application Oxide-Oxide and SIC-Based CMC Prepreg Materials
Axiom Materials, Inc, a Division of Kordsa in Santa Ana, CA, is a leading manufacturer of advanced composite materials, specializing in ceramic matrix composites (CMC), prepregs, honeycomb core, film adhesives, and ancillary composite products. Axiom is the world’s largest producer of Oxide-Oxide (Ox-Ox) Ceramic Matrix Composite prepreg materials. CMC’s have significant application momentum as high temperature oxidation sensitive components, particularly in the aerospace, hyper-sonics, energy, and oil-gas industries combining high strength and long life-cycles.
Our speaker is Wylie Simpson, CMC Technical Manager at Axiom Materials in Santa Ana, CA. His duties include design, analysis and testing of CMC prepregs with emphasis on OX-OX and SIC Based CMC’s. Wiley is a Master’s Graduate of UC San Diego and currently a PhD candidate at UC Irvine.
